This catfish fabric collage quilt stems from a photo taken of our precious cat Keenu. Keenu has since passed away living into his 18th year of age. He was truly a treasure and forever dear to our hearts. I wanted to honour Keenu in a way that would present how much he meant to me and family showing a lot of joy, colour and whimsy. Keenu was my ‘supervisor’ watching everything I did collaging, sewing, jumping up my back and bracing on my shoulders when washing dishes…just about everything! He was with us during the Fort McMurray wildfire, flood and when I was battling brain cancer. The impact Keenu left on me and my husband Cal holds true to this day. Keenu is pretty special.
