45"X45"
This fabric collage quilt was created from a photo I had taken of a wild turkey in the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, Arizona. This particular turkey had quite an attitude defending his territory on the ranch parking lot. He was pecking vehicle tires and chasing guests. He was a bit intimidating, but at the same time fun to watch. I think this wild turkey was trying to protect his mate. This collage did have its challenges. If you can believe it, the hardest parts of the bird were collaging the beak and feet. I completed the body portion in about a week. The choice of fabrics for the body seemed to just flow with this piece. Feet and beak were another story. It actually took me months. You just never know… I’m quite happy with the result.
